Recently I went to Southampton with my sister and Dad, kinda went a little shopping crazy…so I’m going to show you all the bits I picked up. As well as this, I’ll show you the glowy and simple make up I was wearing and my outfit. Hope you enjoy!
Make up of the day
The look is fairly natural, with brown eye liner creating soft definition on the eyes and a simple of wash of colour on the lids. I’m also really loving this creamy nude pink combination on the lips. (All products used listed below)
Bourjois Paris Happy Light Luminous Serum Primer (£10.99)
Maybelline SuperStay Better Skin Foundation (£8.99, shade ivory) + Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum Gel foundation (£10.99, 51 Vanilla) – I mixed these two shades as I like the coverage the Maybelline one gives, but I like the glowy finish of the Bourjois one.
MUA Prime & Conceal Correcting Cream – Peach (£2.00)
Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer (£3.99, Fair)
Maybelline Fit Me Powder (£5.99, Classic Ivory)
Stila Eyes are the Window Palette (Spirit) (£30.00)
Maybelline Master Precise Liquid Eyeliner in Forest Brown (£5.99)
Smashbox Full Exposure Mascara (£19.50)
Maybelline Colour Sensational Lipstick in More To Adore (£6.99)
Stila Lip Glaze in Banana (£15.00)
Outfit Of The Day
I’ve been absolutely loving this dress from New Look! It’s just so easy to wear and you can dress it up or down! I love how the scarf and bag match perfectly together and the boots are a perfect transition from winter to spring. It wasn’t super cold on this day so the jacket worked well at keeping me warm but not boiling whilst walking in and out of shops !
Dress: New Look Denim Dress (£24.99)
Jacket: New Look Blazer Jacket (£22.99)
Boots: Clarks Boots (£60.00)
Bag: Redherring Pink Backpack (£22.00 + 20% off at the moment!!)
Earrings: Dream catcher Earrings from New Look (£4.99)
Scarf: H & M Scarf (£9.99)
Watch: Classic Winchester Watch by Daniel Wellington (£129)
Ring: Pink ring from New Look (£3.99)
I went into lots of shops and came out with quite a few bits, mainly make up to be honest! Firstly, I had to go to MAC in John Lewis and pick up a new lipstick (which my dad actually bought for me, thank you Dad!) I knew that I wanted to get either Velvet Teddy or Creme Cup because they’re both such classic nudes. I decided to go with Creme Cup because I knew I’d get more use out of it, it’s a cremesheen finish and is a pretty light pink nude.
My mum asked me to pick up Vegas Volt for her but turns out she didn’t like the colour on her and I quite like it so she gave it to me (thanks Mummy). It’s a gorgeous coral peach colour, perfect for the warmer months. This is an amplified finish.
Lastly, I almost squealed when I saw The Balm in Debenhams, I’ve never purchased anything from The Balm so I decided to get one of their Meet Matt(e) Hughes Liquid Lipsticks. I got the shade ‘Committed’, which is a nude with a brown/warm undertone. Can’t wait to start wearing this! It retails for £13.00 which is pretty affordable, especially when the packaging is so cute.
Also in Debenhams, I picked up this Too Faced Born This Way Foundation. I love Too Faced, it’s one of my favourite brands and I’ve always wanted to try this. I got mine in Vanilla and it retails for £29.00.
Had a look in Paperchase as I really wanted a letter holder for my Eye Shadow Palettes, to hold the palettes I use on a daily basis. In this one, I managed to fit 4 of my favourite palettes in and it looks so pretty.
In paperchase I also got this A5 Notebook, which has 5 subject tabs, which will make it really easy for me to divide out my units for revision as exams are coming up. The pattern is also really cute.
I was so excited to go into Victoria Secret and I came out with this lovely body spray.
It’s the hypnotized body mist and smells so summery, sweet and fresh, I love it!
Had a quick look in Urban Outfitters and got these beauty sponges as I’ve never tried blending out foundation with a beauty sponge and these were quite affordable at £7 for two. They’re by Models Own and I’ll let you know in a later blog post how I get on with them!
Finally at the end!! It was the first time that I’d seen the Yankee Candle shop in Southampton so I was super excited.
Only came out with one candle and it’s the Pink Sands Candle. It smells amazing!!! So fresh and sweet. Can you see there’s a pattern with the fragrances I like? Absolutely love it and can’t wait to start burning it!
So that completes this post! Quite long, sorry! Hope you enjoyed it and will let you know how I get on with all the make up goodies.
P.S thanks to Kate and Dad for taking pictures of my outfit!
