Bourjois is one of my favourite brands, the products just feel so much more luxurious than the affordable price tags. Recently, they came out with the City Radiance Foundation with its matching counterpart, the Radiance Reveal Concealer. The Air Mat Foundation isn’t as new of a release but I thought I’d pick that up and give it a go too.
City Radiance Foundation
I love dewy base products, so the word, ‘radiance’ instantly pulled me in and got me excited. The packaging is super cute as well. This product claims to give a brightening effect, give a fresh & even complexion and has an SPF of 30. The coverage is pretty light on my skin, but it did even out my skin tone nicely without feeling heavy at all. The product says that is has, ‘radiance-boosting pigments’ however the product just didn’t deliver in this department. The foundation didn’t make my skin feel awful, but it didn’t make it any more glowy or radiant, as the name would suggest. Due to this, I was quite disappointed with this foundation. If I were to recommend a glowy foundation from Bourjois I would always recommend the Healthy Mix Serum, which is actually my holy grail foundation.
I picked this up in the shade 02 Vanilla, which is too dark for me.
Air Mat Foundation
On a more positive note, I’m so surprised by how much I love their Air Mat Foundation. I have normal-dry skin, so I do prefer a more luminous, hydrating base. But this foundation is not drying on my skin at all. It claims to have an undetectable matte finish and last 24 hours. You can’t see this product on the skin, it looks so natural but it covers literally everything. I’d say this is medium coverage but can be built up to full. The 24h claim I could probably never fully test but I swatched this in store and it remained on my hand even after showering. I think that’s pretty amazing and they should probably add, ‘waterproof’ to their claims as well! The fact that it lasts so long on skin, as well as being lightweight will make it perfect for the summer.
Learning from my mistake, I picked up 01 Rose Ivory.
Radiance Reveal Concealer
Firstly, can we talk about how luxe this packaging looks?! It looks so premium and gorgeous.
This concealer claims to correct, illuminate and give 24hr hydration. I picked up the lightest shade which works perfectly. In terms of coverage, it gives full coverage underneath my eyes, which I do like. The formula is a lot thicker than I thought it would be, I just assumed because it is illuminating it would be quite liquidy. However, it does give me a luminous look underneath my eyes and feels really fresh. I wouldn’t use this for spot concealing because it is a dewy concealer, it can tend to highlight the pimple rather than cover it. I love using this underneath my eyes to conceal, as well as down the centre of my face to highlight. This concealer gets a big thumbs up from me.
Mine is shade 01, Ivory.
