Weekend Away Make-Up Bag

After my recent trip to Brighton, I took a trip to Bournemouth with my wonderful boyfriend and we had a fabulous time. We only stayed there one night but it was still hard for me to decide what make up to take with me as I have a make up obsession and just wanted to bring it all. I did get there in the end and these are the products I decided to take, not including brushes, otherwise this post would be a million words long.

BASE

Make up bag – Next
Primer – Too Faced Hangover Primer & Make up Revolution Ultra Strobe Cream
Concealer – Nyx Dark Circle Concealer & Collection lasting perfection concealer
Foundations – L’Oreal Nude Magique Cushion Foundation & Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation
Powder – NYC Smooth Skin Loose Setting powder

I probably went overboard with the amount of base products I went with, but I’ve been really enjoying the combination of the Too Faced primer and the Strobe Cream together, it just creates such a glowy base before foundation. 2 foundations is enough as I brought my daytime foundation (L’Oreal) and then an evening one for when we went out to dinner (Estee Lauder). I can’t live without my Nyx corrector and the Collection concealer so they were a must. In terms of powder, your best bet is probably a pressed one as it’s less messy and probably less bulky as well. However, I feel like loose powder looks so much less cakey on my dry skin and I’ve been really loving it so that’s why I brought it with me.

FACE

Blush Palette – Make up Revolution Blush Palette – Sugar & Spice
Bronzer – Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess Bronzer
Highlighter – The Balm Mary Lou Manizer
Mac Fix + Setting Spray

The blush palette from MUR is brilliant as it has so many gorgeous shades, as well as a really pretty frosty pink/white highlight. It would be perfect if you were going on holiday for a week or so as you would have so many options in this handy little palette. Estee Lauder bronze goddess bronzer is holy grail to me so I had to take that, even though it’s large size isn’t super travel friendly. Much like the bronzer, Mary-Lou is an all time favourite of mine and goes with so many different looks. Also, make sure you take a setting spray! Mac Fix+ is one I could not live without.

EYES

Eye Shadow Palette – Mac Warm Neutrals x 15 Palette
Mascara – Rimmel 100% Waterproof
Eyebrows – Urban Decay Brow Box (brown sugar)

In the summertime, I tend to wear less eye make up so I didn’t pack too much eye stuff. However, I got this gorgeous new palette for my birthday just over a week ago and it contains all the warm neutrals I could ever need. I’m so obsessed with it and it’s actually really versatile as well. I definitely recommend switching to a waterproof mascara on holiday as the hot weather make cause it to smudge and run. As well as this, you may be spending a lot of time in water. This mascara from Rimmel isn’t the most lengthening mascara but it is 100% waterproof and does not budge. The Brow Box is the only brow product I use so it was pretty easy to chuck that into my make up bag (I have the old packaging by the way). I skipped out on eye liner as I rarely wear it!

LIPS

Lipsticks – MAC : Creme Cup (Cremesheen)
Chatterbox (Amplified)
Maybelline Colour Sensational : Pink Fling

Lipgloss – L’Oreal Infallible Mega Gloss : Girl On Top
Nyx Butter Gloss : Creme Brulee

I didn’t take any lip liners as this isn’t really something I do on a regular basis, so I went a little crazy on lip stick and gloss, not going to lie. Most are pink nudes, but I also included a bright lip (Chatterbox) which I did actually wear on our evening meal on the Saturday. I feel as though you can never have too many options in terms of lip products, so I say go crazy!

Hope you enjoyed reading about my picks for a weekend away make up bag!
